During July 1995, the village of Kravica was one of the sites of mass execution of men, where more than 1,000 Bosniaks were shot, writes the Patria News Agency.

Accused of genocide in the area of the village of Kravica are: Radovan Karadžić, Ratko Mladić, Miloš Stupar, Milenko Trifunović, Petar Mitrović, Brano Džinić, Aleksandar Radovanović, Slobodan Jakovljević, Miladin Stevanović, Velibor Maksimović, Dragiša Živanović, Branislav Medan, Duško Jević, Mendeljev Đurić, Goran Marković and Neđo Ikonić.

Who was convicted

Duško Jević, commander of the Jahorina Training Center of the Special Police Brigade at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was sentenced to 32 years in prison for genocide committed in Kravica, and Mendeljev Đurić, commander of the first company of the Jahorina Training Center, MUP RS, was sentenced to 28 years in prison.

In the period from July 12 to 19, 1995, Duško Jević and Mendeljev Đurić knowingly assisted members of a joint criminal enterprise, including some high-ranking VRS officers and other members of the civilian leadership of Republika Srpska, who acted with the intent to partially exterminate a group of the Bosniak people, by forcibly relocating around 40,000 women, children, and the elderly, and summary executions of between 7,000 and 8,000 Bosniak men.

Although they were aware of the forced relocation of the civilian population and that Bosniak men would be summarily executed, Jević, together with Mendeljev Đurić, ordered members of the 1st Company to participate in the forced relocation of the Bosniak civilian population from Potočari, the separation of military-age men, their detention and holding in the so-called 'White House', and the subsequent mass murder of captured Bosniak men in the warehouse of the agricultural cooperative Kravica.

Goran Marković, commander of the second platoon of the first company of the Jahorina Training Center, MUP RS, was acquitted of all charges, as was Neđo Ikonić, commander of the second company of the Jahorina Training Center, MUP RS.
