Who deliberately omitted Emir Nuhanović from the promotion of the Monograph Sarajevo Philharmonic 1923-2013

Emir Nuhanović, former director of the Sarajevo Philharmonic, which he successfully led from 1994 to 2007, was not invited to tomorrow's promotion of the monograph that encompasses 90 years of existence of one of the oldest cultural institutions in the country, writes the news agency Patria.

The representative edition titled Sarajevo Philharmonic 1923-2013 will be presented in the foyer of the National Theatre in Sarajevo. Nuhanović is not among those who will speak at the promotion, nor among the guests.

-I accidentally learned from the media that the Sarajevo Philharmonic had produced the Monograph 1923/2013. During the work on the Monograph, no one ever contacted me regarding it, and I am sure I could have helped in its creation and its quality.
After all, I am the person who officially registered the Sarajevo Philharmonic, and that during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Until then, the Philharmonic had never had a single permanently employed musician, nor did it have a single instrument of its own.

At the same time, I established contacts with Zubin Mehta (through Michael Stoccin). I organized the first concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic outside Bosnia and Herzegovina: "Help Rwanda" in Sicily, and I organized the famous and, I can freely say, historic concert in the City Hall. That concert was a turning point in the work of the Sarajevo Philharmonic.

For my work, I received the April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo, of which I am very proud because I received it for my work during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, when we had no electricity, water, food, heating, and grenades were falling on us daily. That time is incomparable, Nuhanović says for Patria.

Incidentally, at the promotion, Ivica Šarić, Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, Samra Gulamović, director of the Sarajevo Philharmonic, academician Teodor Romanić, Prof. Dr. Tomislav Išek, Prof. Dr. Ivan Čavlović, Prof. Dževad Šabanagić, and Prof. Bojan Hadžihalilović will speak.
