Who will inform Dačić and Vulin that Nedeljko Dragaš set fire to a warehouse, not a church in Sarajevo

When the information was published on Sunday, August 21, that a warehouse of the Orthodox Church in the Sarajevo settlement of Pofalići was on fire, all media from Serbia, as well as those published in Banja Luka, quickly came out with headlines "terror against Serbs in Sarajevo", "church in Pofalići set on fire", and the head of Serbian diplomacy Ivica Dačić demanded an urgent investigation into the burning of the church (not the warehouse), writes the Patria News Agency.

Today, August 23, when the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo announced that a man suspected of setting fire to the church warehouse, Nedeljko Dragaš, was arrested yesterday by the quick reaction of the Sarajevo police, there is complete silence on the other side of the Drina.

Although the official prosecutor's office announced the news this morning, only the Belgrade daily Blic published the news, with a considerable delay. The media were not as quick as on Sunday, and neither Serbian nor RS officials are reacting. At least they could have welcomed the swift action of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS and the Prosecutor's Office.

It seems that the development of the situation does not suit them, because on Sunday they planned that this act could be excellently used to raise inter-ethnic tensions and to help in the election campaign in BiH.

And here is how they reacted to the news that the warehouse was set on fire.

Čavarkapa: This is a message that Serbs are not welcome in FBiH

Milivoje Čavarkapa, president of the "Return" Association, said that "this act of arson after the feast of the Transfiguration greatly disturbed citizens of Serbian nationality", and that vandals did it.

-This act was not committed by any believers, because these are people who belong to the criminal milieu, politicians who want to raise tensions between people at any cost. In Sarajevo, in BiH, there is no life without three constituent peoples living together. If someone thinks that by such an act they are creating something else, then unfortunately, there will be great ethnic divisions or, God forbid, bloodshed between the three peoples, Čavarkapa said.

He said that this is a message that Serbs are not welcome in Sarajevo and FBiH as a constituent people, and that it should not be overlooked that cases of damage, arson, and looting of churches have also occurred in Binježevo, Kakanj, Visoko, and Blažuj.

Košarac: The policy that set fire to the temple wants to abolish RS as well

Staša Košarac, SNSD MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, believes that the same policy that set fire to the temple also wants to abolish the Republika Srpska and prevent the referendum from being held.

-If the attackers are not discovered urgently, Serbs will, for the umpteenth time, be sent a message that they do not belong in Sarajevo. We call on the competent institutions to react urgently and discover the perpetrators, so that Serbs in Sarajevo can regain hope that there is indeed a place for them in this city, it was announced from PDP.

Vulin: An attack on Serbs is welcome and goes unpunished

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin most sharply condemned the attempted arson of the Orthodox church in Sarajevo and appealed to the authorities in BiH to quickly find the perpetrator and ensure they are punished exemplarily.

According to him, since the BiH authorities did not find the person who attempted to kill Aleksandar Vučić a year ago, someone has now understood the message that every attack on Serbs, their heritage, and culture is actually unpunished, almost welcome.

-Whoever did this is a great enemy of the Serbian people, but also of any other people. We must not allow such people to win, for violence and hatred to win, Vulin said.
