Writers Bećirbašić and Kučuk Spend Time with Primary School Students

As part of the traditional „Literary Caravan for Primary School Students“, writers Mirsad Bećirbašić and Fahrudin Kučuk were guests at the Primary School „Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević“ on 16 September 2016. The organizer of the Literary Caravan is the Public Institution Center for Culture „Sarajevo“, and it is sponsored by the Centar Municipality, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The head of the literary club at the Youth Center in Gorica and participant in the literary caravan, Mirsad Bećirbašić, thanked the representatives of the Centar Municipality, who have always shown understanding for cooperation with writers.

- Today we will wish the children a happy start to the new school year, and for the fifth-grade students of this school, I will recite poems from my new book, and we will discuss one of my poems that is included in the reader for their grade. We are also here to listen to young authors and to answer everything they are interested in about literature, explained Bećirbašić.

Kučuk said they feel great gratitude because, as authors, they have the opportunity to share the joy of socializing and reading with children and to exchange experiences.

- We find it very interesting to listen among young people to see who wants to become a poet or writer tomorrow, said Kučuk.

During this year, as part of the mentioned project, our writers Bećirbašić and Kučuk also visited students from the primary schools „Hasan Kaimija“, „Safvet-beg Bašagić“ and „Vladislav Skarić“, where they shared their rich experience in world and our literature with young people.

The goal of the project „Literary Caravan for Primary School Students“ is to bring books and reading closer to children as a permanent educational and cultural habit through meetings with writers of literary works from the school reading list. Such educational and fun gatherings motivate children to read more and to perceive the book after these meetings as a friend that will accompany them throughout their lives.
