SDP BiH Caucus Demands Extraordinary Session Due to Migrant Crisis

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Social Democratic Party of BiH Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH expresses concern about the scale of the migrant crisis present in the territory of the Federation of BiH, particularly in the territory of the Una-Sana Canton and the City of Bihać. Precisely because of this situation, the SDP BiH Caucus, at the last session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, urgently requested the Collegium of the House of Representatives to hold a Collegium session at which an extraordinary session of the House of Representatives will be scheduled regarding the initiative to convene an extraordinary session related to the migrant crisis.

We demand that a Resolution on the Migrant Crisis be adopted at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH. The Resolution will oblige the Government of the Federation of BiH to form a working body that, in cooperation with the competent authorities of the cantons and local self-government units affected by the consequences of the migrant crisis, will coordinate activities related to resolving the consequences caused by the migrant crisis in the area of the Federation of BiH.

We also demand that the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH task the Government of the Federation to initiate with the Council of Ministers of BiH an urgent resolution of the problem of the permeability of the eastern border of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, through staffing and material-technical equipment of the BiH Border Police forces.
