SDA Caucus: NIP-Coalition - Unprecedented Political Hypocrisy

(Patria) - With unprecedented absurdities and Goebbels-like methods, bearing the clear mark of a deep psychopathology, regarding the alleged cooperation of SDA with BIA in undermining the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which in recent days have been presented by Elmedin Konaković, the NIP MPs in the state Parliament joined yesterday with a public statement.

They too accuse SDA of, no less, colluding with SNSD to undermine the state – particularly the BiH Court, the Constitutional Court of BiH, and the Office of the High Representative of the International Community for BiH.

This is, without a doubt, a new wave of attacks on SDA, planned and orchestrated by the intelligence services of NIP's mentors and employers, devoid of any moral, ideological, or human scruples and without any basis in fact, the SDA Caucus in the BiH Parliament announced today.

"In a state of collective panic and a complete deficit of ideas for any coherent reactions or rational responses to SDA's great victory and NIP's dramatic electoral collapse in the recently concluded Local Elections, this party on the verge of extinction has decided to add a new dimension to its relentless attacks on SDA – completely nonsensical lies that defy common sense.

Konaković's and NIP's fabrications are very similar in values and methodology to the bestial lies of the wartime Paljanska propaganda that we shelled and killed ourselves in besieged Sarajevo! Only in this way can the baseless accusations by NIP that SDA is cooperating with the Serbian BIA and SNSD to undermine the most important institutions of our state and the OHR as the most important international representative in our country be explained.

In a futile and meaningless attempt to offer at least a minimum of argumentation for their untenable theses, NIP's state MPs, in their statement yesterday, labeled all of SDA's justified reactions to Christian Schmidt's arbitrariness and demands to cease the practice of misusing the OHR institution for the benefit of HDZ as an attack on the OHR.

'Attack on the OHR' is how NIP (and the Trojka as a whole) refers to SDA's crystal clear, loud, and justified opposition to the scandalous imposition of amendments to the Election Law and the suspension of the BiH Federation Constitution for one day, and its unacceptable interference in the 'Kovačević verdict'.

For NIP, a peaceful and dignified press conference held outdoors in front of the OHR building, organized by the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99, and a declaration by intellectuals, public figures, and several hundred citizens from that gathering who asked the High Representative not to interfere in the 'Kovačević verdict' – is actually an attempt to overthrow the OHR!?!

Instead of NIP leader Elmedin Konaković, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, acting promptly, clearly, and concretely in each of the aforementioned cases and officially requesting explanations and reactions from the High Representative and taking action in accordance with his mandate, activating ambassadors of PIC member states, and acting in accordance with the obligations appropriate to his position, he has consistently remained silent on all of this.

He would only be unusually loud and ruthless towards anyone who asked him to do his job and react to the OHR, PIC, ambassadors, or Christian Schmidt personally, while at the same time acting as a spokesperson for HDZ.

Therefore, we also see this statement from the NIP Caucus as a futile attempt at a complete reversal of theses and a failed attempt to justify Elmedin Konaković's shameful diplomatic-political hibernation as NIP leader and Minister of Foreign Affairs in all cases that cried out for his official reaction to the OHR, which was – completely absent!

Even more absurd, hypocritical, and untrue is the accusation that SDA is working to undermine the Constitutional Court of BiH. NIP's state MPs 'recognized' this fabricated 'subversive' nature of our actions in our consistent and long-term opposition, along with the broadest democratic public in BiH, to the extremely harmful intention of HDZ and Trojka to humiliate the Parliament of the Federation and deprive it of the right to elect a judge of the Constitutional Court from among multiple candidates, while simultaneously grossly instrumentalizing it for the appointment of HDZ's exclusive favorite, Marin Vukoja.

The claims from yesterday's statement by NIP MPs regarding the voting behavior of Constitutional Court judge Vukoja do not remove the significant stain from the procedure of his election, nor do they provide a guarantee that the said judge will vote in the interest of the state in cases where HDZ's interest conflicts with the state's interest.

It is particularly inappropriate, hypocritical, and even cynical for NIP MPs to lecture the public through their statement on how (we quote): 'The Constitutional Court of BiH preserves the foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to make decisions, it must be complete.'

How then did it happen that NIP (and the Trojka as a whole), at the request of Milorad Dodik, removed from the BiH Reform Program the obligation to complete the Constitutional Court (which 'preserves the foundations of BiH') and the obligation to implement its decisions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina!?

How is it that NIP is now almost quoting SDA's positions from the time when our prime ministers demanded that these points about the BiH Constitutional Court and its judgments be included in the Reform Program!? And at that time, SDA prime ministers were brutally criticized by Trojka representatives for what NIP is now selling to the public as its political positions!

The lie that criticism of the obvious dysfunctionality of the judiciary undermines the BiH Court is particularly irrelevant. The fact that a large part of the public recognizes that the judiciary is being instrumentalized for political purposes, and that NIP was formed on the basis of these instrumentalities, is not an SDA problem, but an NIP problem.

Therefore, we reject with disgust and indignation all the brutal fabrications and lies of NIP about SDA's participation in any acts or intentions to undermine the state system institutions or the OHR. There is no one who, based on the criteria of truth and evidence, could confirm what the NIP MPs in the state parliament (the three of them) state in their announcement.

After all, not only from the perspective and criteria of patriotism, but also from the perspective of logic, SDA could never participate in the destruction of a state in whose construction it has been diligently working for almost three and a half decades.

We remind that SDA, precisely by building the state together with citizens and the broadest front of patriots, has been the undisputed winner in 16 out of a total of 17 electoral cycles so far. Why would we now, according to Konaković and his party, which he is leading to certain oblivion, change roles.

Therefore, let NIP continue to work with SNSD as they have started, which the citizens clearly recognized and halved its support in the last elections," the SDA Caucus in the BiH Parliament stated.
