SDP BiH Caucus Submits Request for Extraordinary Session of Mostar City Council

(Patria) - The SDP BiH caucus in the Mostar City Council today submitted a request for an extraordinary session of the City Council due to the newly emerged situation.

"On the agenda, in the attached request, are key issues whose resolution will remove all doubts regarding the functioning of the Mostar City Council. We believe that only the Statute of the City of Mostar can stipulate that voting, i.e., elections within the City Council, are conducted publicly.

Likewise, another important issue that councilors must resolve through amendments to the Statute of the City of Mostar is the discrimination of councilors from the Others category. We believe that this issue must be regulated in the same way as it is for the caucuses of the constituent peoples.

The same issues need to be regulated by the Rules of Procedure of the Mostar City Council. Also, it is completely clear that the City Council must have its working bodies in order to function legally. Likewise, we propose that the Mostar City Council adopt a decision on temporary financing so that decision-making on city funds returns to where it belongs, to the council seats in Mostar. In this way, we will enable the unimpeded functioning of city institutions until the adoption of the Budget of the City of Mostar," it was announced.
