SDA Caucus: We demand Mioković stop violating the Rules of Procedure and convene a session on fiscal reforms

(Patria) - The caucus of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement today regarding the failure to convene an emergency session of that house on fiscal reform in the FBiH.

"The refusal of the Speaker Dragan Mioković to convene, at the request of more than 20 deputies, an emergency session of the House of Representatives on the topic 'Fiscal Reform in the FBiH' represents a gross violation of the Rules of Procedure, ignoring elected deputies, derogating the House of Representatives, and completely disregarding the problems facing the economy in the FBiH.

Under the Rules of Procedure, Speaker Mioković was obliged to convene an emergency session of the House of Representatives within 14 days of receiving the request, which he did not do.

The deputies who signed the request sought the holding of an emergency session of the House of Representatives to discuss the implementation of necessary fiscal reforms, not a session of committees, commissions, or other working bodies whose conclusions are not binding and cannot result in concrete solutions.

None of the signatories of the initiative had the authority to withdraw, on behalf of the other deputies, the majority of whom are SDA deputies, the request for holding an emergency session of the House of Representatives and accept an alternative in the form of holding a thematic session of working bodies.

The SDA Caucus demands that Speaker Mioković respect the Rules of Procedure and convene an emergency session of the House of Representatives to discuss and adopt decisions that can contribute to solving the serious problems facing the economy in the FBiH," the SDA Caucus stated.
