DF Club demands Mioković schedule a Parliament session: Fiscal laws must be sent into procedure

(Patria) - The DF Club in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament demands that the House Speaker Dragan Mioković urgently convene a session with a set of fiscal laws.

"By not convening an emergency session, for which, according to the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, all conditions were met, Speaker Dragan Mioković continues introducing new practices that undermine the Parliament. The deputies of the Democratic Front Club warn that convening thematic sessions of commissions and committees can in no way replace emergency and regular sessions of the Parliament, nor the consideration and search for solutions to the most important and most complex issues in the Federation of BiH, such as fiscal reforms.

Fiscal reforms require parliamentary procedure, and in this case, all conditions for its initiation have been met – the deadlines have been fulfilled and the signatures of deputies for holding an emergency session have been collected in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives.

Instead of the leadership of the House of Representatives insisting that the Federation Government finally submit the long-promised fiscal laws to the Parliament, we are witnessing the organization of a populist show directed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the chairman of the commission, who agrees to replace an emergency session of the Parliament with a thematic session of the commission.

The Democratic Front Deputies Club, due to the urgent need to consider reducing the burden on labor and creating real preconditions for implementing the inadmissibly long-awaited fiscal reforms in their entirety, demands that the Federation Government urgently send the fiscal laws into parliamentary procedure. After that, we demand from Speaker Dragan Mioković the urgent scheduling of a Parliament session with the aim of considering and adopting this set of extremely important legal solutions.

Any other activity in the Parliament, such as a planned thematic session, can in no way replace a parliamentary session, which is the only prescribed path for fulfilling the goals of the legislature," they state from the DF Club.
