SDP BiH Delegates Club: We will not support amendments to the Criminal Code

After the deception that the amendments to the Criminal Code are about meeting EU standards, and the clear interpretation of the OSCE and the reaction of Transparency International, the SDP BiH delegates club in the House of Peoples of the PF BiH will not support either the inclusion of the amendments on the session agenda or their adoption, it was announced today from this political party.

- Today it is clear that this is an obvious attempt to adopt a private law for private needs, without any expert discussion and under an expedited procedure, and therefore we absolutely do not want to be participants in a parliamentary assault on the judicial system and criminal legislation.

We would like to take this opportunity to call on the proposer of the law to withdraw it from the procedure, and thus send a very clear message that she does not want to participate in the further procedure of devastating the achieved normative standards in corruption offenses - state from SDP BiH.

In their statement, they state that they will use all mechanisms at their disposal to protect the dignity and independence of the judicial system, especially in the segment of protecting legal norms that represent a deterioration, rather than progress, in the fight against corruption.

- Throughout our entire mandate, we have shown persistence in adopting a set of anti-corruption laws and their sustainable financing, where, unfortunately, we have been repeatedly procedurally and financially obstructed by the government, which managed to suspend their implementation for the entire mandate, thus very clearly confirming that it does not want a real fight against corruption.
