Bosniak Club vetoes decision on referendum in RS, HDZ BiH betrays Croat returnees

The Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of the Republika Srpska vetoed the holding of a referendum on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH in this BiH entity, which RS President Milorad Dodik announced for the end of this year, reports the news agency Patria.

The Croat Club in the RS Council of Peoples did not veto the decision on the referendum, because out of seven delegates from the Croat ranks, as many as four abstained, so the Croat Club could not lodge a veto, which some analysts assessed as a betrayal of Croat returnees in the RS.

The head of the Croat People's Delegates Club, Željko Stipić (HSP), said that two Croats from HDZ BiH were not against the decision on the referendum, as well as two other Croats, which is lamentable and led to the Croats being unable to oppose the announced referendum on the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH in the RS.

The President of the Bosniak Club in the RS Council of Peoples, Mujo Hadžiomerović, said that he will use all legal means to stop the holding of the announced referendum on the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH in the RS.

The Bosniak Club will first seek a constitutionality assessment of the Law on Referendum in the RS, which was passed back in 2010 and on the basis of which the decision to call the referendum was made a few days ago in the National Assembly of the RS.

If the Constitutional Court of the RS rejects the Bosniak veto, the entire case goes to the Constitutional Court of BiH, Hadžiomerović announced.

RS President Milorad Dodik wants to abolish the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH, claiming that they work against Serbs, and that this institution was imposed by the High Representative. At the same time, Dodik wants to transfer the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH to the BiH entity of the RS. The opposition in the RS states that the desire to abolish the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH is the last attempt by Milorad Dodik to save himself from prosecution for economic crime, writes NAP.
