Kljujić: Pelivan was a great man

The death of the first Prime Minister of independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jure Pelivan, who passed away on Friday in Split at the age of 85, saddened many, including his contemporary Stjepan Kljujić, reports the Patria News Agency (NAP).

- I am very sorry that he passed away, regardless of his age. He was a great gentleman and citizen and a very significant figure in the phase of the formation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the fight against the aggressor - says Kljujić.

He points out that Sarajevo was quite unfair to Pelivan and that he could have done much more for this country.

- Unfortunately, he was eliminated although he was a great capacity. He was a banker and a European, and as such, he should have played a major role - added Kljujić.

After his term as Prime Minister of BiH, Jure Pelivan was a member of the Board of the Central Bank of BiH from 1997 to 2005. In that position, he was actively involved in the introduction of the Convertible Mark, initially pegged to the DM, and from January 1, 2002, to the Euro. There is no official information yet on whether a memorial service will be held in BiH.

The Government of the Federation of BiH knows nothing about it, as does the Public Relations Service of the BiH Presidency, which referred us to the Information Service of the Council of Ministers, but for now, no one has information about it.
