Ključanin: Bosniaks will never forget what the criminals did

Tomorrow's commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the crime in which 124 Bosniaks were killed and thrown into the Hrastova glavica pit in the Sanski Most municipality will pass without the presence of officials, confirmed Nihad Ključanin, president of the Association of Camp Detainees of Sanski Most, for the Bosnian news agency Patria.

-    We stopped inviting them long ago. We do not want to give them publicity. We are waiting for the authorities to start inviting us to commemorate these crimes. Their attitude towards camp detainees is also shown by the fact that we do not have a law on the rights of torture victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina – said Ključanin.

The Association of Camp Detainees in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association of Camp Detainees of Sanski Most, the Association of Women from Prijedor „Izvor“, the Association of Camp Detainees „Prijedor 92“ and the Association of Camp Detainees Kozarac are organizing the commemoration of the suffering of 124 camp detainees from „Omarska“ and „Keraterm“ in the Hrastova glavica pit. 124 Bosniaks were killed on August 6, 1992, and thrown into a pit 25 meters deep. Ključanin also said that 22 years after this crime, no one has been held accountable for it.

-   This is proof that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not doing its job. There are many such crimes in Krajina. The concentration of crimes along the Sana River valley is enormous. Every year we send a message to the criminals that we have not forgotten what they did, even though they have not been prosecuted – said Ključanin.

He noted that the process of exhumation and identification of victims of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina is proceeding too slowly.

-   That too is an indicator of the authorities' attitude towards the victims. You have crimes in many pits that few knew existed. It happens that these pits are now named after the victims found in them, as is the case with Derviš's pit – emphasized Ključanin.

At the Hrastova glavica site two years ago, a memorial was unveiled built in the shape of a traditional Bosnian cistern, through whose opening the narrow neck of the natural pit into which the victims' bodies were thrown is visible. One of the killed Bosniaks exhumed from the Hrastova pit is the well-known Prijedor doctor Esad Sadiković.

The formation of the column and departure from Kozarac is at 8:30, from Prijedor at 9:00, and from Sanski Most towards the Hrastova pit at 10:00 in front of the hotel „Sanus“ Sanski Most.

Tonight at 20:30, the documentary film „Prijedor Fields of Death“ by author Avdo Huseinović will be shown.

The following day, August 6, a commemoration will be held on the occasion of marking the beginning of the closure of the „Omarska“ concentration camp starting at 10:00. Buses for all interested will pass through Mataruško Brdo at 08:00, and together with the car column will depart from in front of the city stadium in Prijedor at 09:30. This column will join the vehicle column in Kozarac departing at 09:00, writes Patria.
