Klas's Raspberries in Japan

Bosnia and Herzegovina's food industry company Klas d.d. Sarajevo is realizing the export of 20 tons of raspberries that will be found on the highly demanding Japanese market, reports the Patria News Agency.

During the final selection of raspberries, special attention was paid to the quality itself, as well as to the control of pesticide content. In both cases, Klas's raspberries proved to be the best. The export to Japan is realized in cooperation with the company Crop’s.

Last year, Klas purchased 665 tons of raspberries, and other berries and forest fruits from domestic producers, successfully returning to the fruit purchasing business. All quantities were placed for export. Klas's raspberries met the high quality standards of demanding markets such as Turkey, to which 50 tons of raspberries and 10 tons of forest blueberries were exported, as well as the quality standards of one of the world's most famous food brands, the French Danone.

This is another proof that Bosnian and Herzegovinian raspberries are among the best in the world, and that the production and processing of raspberries and other berries should receive special attention in the development of the entire food industry. Klas is precisely an example that domestic brands can be better than the fierce competition that prevails in global markets. We have gained the trust of cooperants and farmers, because payments for purchased quantities of raspberries and other fruits were realized immediately after delivery -- these are the words of Rusmir Hrvić, director of the company Klas d.d. Sarajevo.

This year, the plan is to establish cooperation with about 800 domestic cooperants, in order to establish strict control mechanisms for cultivation, which should result in the purchase of 1,000 tons of high-quality raspberries.
