Bosnia and Herzegovina's food industry company Klas d.d. Sarajevo, through the Association of Farmers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sent urgent aid in the form of fodder on Saturday to 30 shepherds who are members of the Association, and who are snowed in with their flocks on Mount Vlašić, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
Earlier, the Association of Farmers of the Federation of BiH had requested assistance from Klas, and this company approved a total of 10 tons of fodder aid for locations where it is most needed.
Namely, their problem is that about 1,500 sheep are trapped in the hills on Vlašić, and due to the depth of the snow, it is impossible to reach hay for their feed. To avoid a catastrophe with unforeseeable consequences, Klas donated 3,000 kg of fodder as an urgent measure to save several sheep flocks.
Klas's truck delivered the fodder (bran) to the locations of Gostilj and Mudrike on Vlašić, and from there, the shepherds transported the feed to the livestock using sleds and other means, depending on the accessibility of the paths.
