KJKP Toplane-Sarajevo: Heating season ended, facilities remain ready until May 15

(Patria) - In accordance with the Decree on general conditions for the production, supply and use of thermal energy, the heating season ends after the average daily outdoor air temperature is determined to be higher than 12 degrees Celsius for two consecutive preceding days, according to data from the competent meteorological service, and this will happen no earlier than April 15 and no later than May 15 of the following year.

Given that the conditions for the end of the heating season have been met according to the aforementioned Decree, we inform users of central heating that the 2025/2026 heating season in Sarajevo Canton has officially ended.

During the past heating season, the district heating system functioned stably and continuously, with maximum engagement of all available technical and human resources. Despite the challenges caused by the significant increase in energy prices on the market, primarily natural gas, which has seen enormous growth in recent years, KJKP “Toplane – Sarajevo” d.o.o. Sarajevo has made additional efforts to maintain the stability of the system and ensure the orderly supply of thermal energy to end-users.

The thermal power plants and installations will remain operationally ready until 05/15/2026, and in case of need, and in accordance with the outside temperature, our users will be heated during this period.

During the period outside the heating season, the Company will carry out planned regular and investment maintenance activities, including plant overhauls, reconstruction and modernization of parts of the heating system, with the aim of improving energy efficiency and reliability of supply in the next season.
