Kico on Konaković's 'spies': Generalizations are harmful to BiH and a hybrid attack on OSA

(Patria) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, has repeatedly stated in public that there are BIA agents within state structures, thereby casting doubt on the work of state institutions.

Ahmed Kico, a security expert, spoke about this topic on Hayat TV's show "7plus", assessing that such public behavior is irresponsible.

-That is irresponsible behavior. Speaking out publicly, which further causes anxiety among citizens. We must be responsible with public statements. We must not make such statements. When I worked at the agency, we had research on espionage activities. It is so complicated that you have to use maximum capacity to prove it. After those statements, we have requests for OSA to confirm whether the information is true or not – Kico points out.

He adds that by releasing such information, the principles of OSA's work are undermined, and that the Agency cannot make relevant decisions at that moment.

- These are such dangerous pieces of information that you undermine OSA's operational principles for political purposes. I am only saying that the operability and secrecy of all OSA methods must be protected. We must not give crucial information to someone on a silver platter. And I can say that this is part of hybrid operations against OSA. You cannot do your job then, and instead of dealing with problems within the country, you cannot make relevant decisions. Some politicians irresponsibly release such information. If you have such information, report it as a criminal offense. General accusations are harmful to BiH – says Kico.
