KCUS Prof. Dizdarević faces disciplinary action upon return from World Neurosurgery Congress!?

Mobbing and pressure on doctors and employees who do not comply with every decision of the management led by Sebija Izetbegović continues at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, writes the Patria news agency.

Prof. Dr. Kemal Dizdarević, a neurosurgery specialist and subspecialist in cerebrovascular surgery, was invited as a speaker and moderator on behalf of BiH to the World Neurosurgery Congress, which was successfully held in Istanbul in August of this year. However, instead of talking about scientific achievements in the media, this successful story has a different twist, as Dr. Izetbegović wished!?

World Neurosurgery Congresses are held every four years in top neurosurgery centers around the world. Prof. Dizdarević had two invited lectures (surgical strategy for treating aneurysms and surgical removal of brain arteriovenous malformations) at the main session of the Congress on the first day and a so-called Keynote lecture on the third day.

In addition, he moderated two congress sessions and gave an additional lecture on cervical spine surgery. Dizdarević did not request any funding for his trip and stay from KCUS, but paid for it with his own funds and those of the organizers.

Dr. Dizdarević received approval on July 11, 2017, to attend the Congress, signed by his immediate superiors, acting Head of Neurosurgery Haso Sefo, and Discipline Director Prof. Dr. Dželaludin Junuzović.

However, on September 4, 2017, Sefo and Junuzović filed a disciplinary complaint stating that Dizdarević had left work without anyone's knowledge or approval!?

The complaint is signed by Prof. Junuzović, who also holds the positions of director, president of the disciplinary committee, head of the Urology Clinic, and member of the Management Board at the Clinical Center.

When asked about the aforementioned events, Prof. Dizdarević briefly replied that he is still not sure what is happening, but that this type of attack would not surprise him for several reasons.

As he says, the relentless mobbing that the KCUS management continuously carries out against employees is also directed at him, and secondly, "Haso Sefo, who seems to have been brought in as a joke about a bad student, in his opinion, has not been behaving like a doctor but like a subordinate all along and represents a typical example of the mental profile with which the president's wife has surrounded herself.".

Junuzović, who holds multiple positions, constantly forgets what he signs.

Dizdarević still stands by his statement given to Patria a year ago that "the president's wife is carrying out a kind of coup d'état through relentless attacks on responsible and prominent doctors and professors in the most important health institution in the country. She should be returned to the embrace of those who taught her this, let her set rules for them.".
