(Patria) - The Clinical Center of UNSA issued a press release after information was published in some media that in the building of the former Clinic for Traumatology, which now houses the Clinic for Urgent Medicine, the Clinic for Eye Diseases, the Clinic for Neurosurgery, and the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, pipes had burst and flooding occurred, and that there was a possibility of "hospital-acquired infections due to poor hygienic and epidemiological conditions".

"We want to inform the public that all necessary measures have been taken to resolve the situation.

KCUS immediately proceeded with the urgent remediation of the damaged part of the building, which has been a problem for years due to worn-out water pipes and other installations. We have particularly focused on the hygienic and epidemiological protection of patients and staff.

Remediation is being carried out in accordance with all valid protocols and standards, and in cooperation with
expert services.

The work of all the mentioned clinics is proceeding smoothly and safely, fully according to the prescribed procedures applied in such extraordinary situations, which are not uncommon in healthcare institutions.
