Kavazović: Some are on the path to jeopardize peace and that must be stopped immediately

(Patria) - The Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, today, together with Bishop Tomo Vukšić and the President of the Jewish Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jakob Finci, spoke with Derek Chollet, senior political advisor to U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. After the meeting at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador, Grand Mufti Husein ef. Kavazović said that the most important thing is to preserve peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that good neighborly relations are the foundation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He stated that peace has no price and that everyone must be involved in preserving peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both our friends from outside and us in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as all well-intentioned people.

"When we have peace and when no one will be able to disrupt it, it is necessary to open a dialogue among leaders to talk about the real interests of the people living in these areas. That is what we, as the Grand Mufti, Bishop Vukšić, and Finci, said. That is the message we sent," he emphasized.

The Grand Mufti also spoke about returnees and that some in Bosnia and Herzegovina are on the path to jeopardize peace and that this must be stopped immediately.

"Returnees have it the hardest; I believe we all should have responsibilities towards all people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially towards minority communities, so that they can live and work in peace and nothing happens to them. For anything contrary to this, those who with their words and actions bring unrest to Bosnia and Herzegovina and could harm peace will be held responsible. People are obviously not aware of this or have agendas that could threaten it. Bosnia and Herzegovina has many friends, but it also has enemies like any country, but Bosnia and Herzegovina has enough internal strength to preserve peace, as well as friends who will help it in that. We are closest to each other, and no one is more important to us than our neighbors. The foundation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is good neighborly relations. That is the most important thing," said Kavazović.
