Catholic faithful around the world are celebrating Christmas Eve tonight. Christmas Eve is the day before Christmas in the Christian calendar. This is the day when Catholics celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
In churches around the world, a mass will be held exactly at midnight.
Sarajevo is also ready for Christmas Eve. The main mass celebration will be held in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
The Archbishop Metropolitan of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, will preside over the Christmas Vigil Midnight Mass in the Sarajevo Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, starting at midnight. On Christmas Day, December 25, a solemn Mass starting at 10:30 AM will be led by Cardinal Puljić, also in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
Banja Luka
Auxiliary Bishop of Banja Luka, Mons. Dr. Marko Semren, will preside over the Christmas Vigil Midnight Mass in the Banja Luka Cathedral of St. Bonaventure on December 24, starting at midnight.
Bishop of Banja Luka, Mons. Dr. Franjo Komarica, will preside over the Christmas Vigil Midnight Mass with parishioners in the parish of Liskovica (near Mrkonjić Grad).
On Christmas Day, December 25, a solemn Mass starting at 10 AM will be led by Bishop Komarica in the Banja Luka Cathedral.
Mostar
Bishop of Mostar-Duvno and Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan, Mons. Dr. Ratko Perić, will preside over the Christmas Vigil Midnight Mass in the Mostar Cathedral of Mary Mother of the Church on December 24, starting at midnight.
On Christmas Day, December 25, a solemn Mass starting at 11 AM will be presided over by Bishop Perić, also in the Mostar Cathedral.
