Kasumović invites councillors to meeting: Social peace must be preserved

ZENICA, (Patria) - In the sincerest intention to prevent the unforeseeable harmful consequences already suffered by the citizens of Zenica, due to the complete financial blockade of the City of Zenica, caused by the failure to adopt the Decision on Temporary Financing, guided by Article 16 of the Law on Principles of Local Self-Government in the Federation of BiH, Fuad Kasumović, Mayor of Zenica, publicly invited councillors to a joint meeting, which will be held on Monday, 17.02.2020, in order to reach an agreement on the Proposal of the Budget of the City of Zenica for 2020 and the accompanying proposal of the decision on the execution of the said budget.

"I ask that you take this invitation seriously and approach it with utmost responsibility, especially bearing in mind the most vulnerable categories of our citizens, which include socially disadvantaged and ill persons, mothers,
veterans, students and others, who should not suffer any obstructions in the enjoyment of their rights due to political disagreements for any reason. In this sense, we are also each within our own
competence jointly responsible for the normal functioning of the City of Zenica as a unit of local self-government and the smooth running of the life and work of our fellow citizens. Moreover, on this occasion, I especially
draw attention to the need to prevent the risk of social unrest and thus preserve order and peace, which could be disturbed due to such an unenviable current situation, believing that this
would not be in anyone's interest, least of all the citizens of this city, whose best interests we are obliged to represent," stated Kasumović.
