Kasumović: Where does an official of the Islamic Community of Zenica get the right to call on believers to vote for SDA candidates?

Independent candidate for mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović, is shocked and surprised by the audacity and abuse of power by certain individuals close to the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria News Agency.  

In recent days, hundreds of e-mail messages authored by Nihad Durmić, secretary of the Islamic Community Council of Zenica, have been sent to a large number of religious officials and believers in Zenica, according to a statement from Fuad Kasumović's election headquarters.  

-This official has taken it upon himself to call on his colleagues from the Islamic Community Council of Zenica and, as he states, the jamaat members, to vote for SDA candidates. On this occasion, I ask the esteemed Zenica Mufti, Dr. Ejub ef. Dautović, and the Chief Imam, Jakub ef. Salkić, to clarify the call that the aforementioned Nihad Durmić is sending to religious officials and jamaat members.

Is this the stance of the Islamic Community Council of Zenica or an isolated case? If it is the latter, which I sincerely hope, I ask you to take an official stance and suspend this manipulator of human emotions.

As a Bosniak, a Muslim, a "Golden Lily", a man who has successfully performed a large number of tasks to the satisfaction of the citizens and our country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I ask you where does an official of our umbrella community get the right to determine who are the good Bosniaks who support and help the Islamic Community and its activities, and who should lead a city of 120,000 mostly dissatisfied residents.

In what way are the individuals listed by Durmić from the SDA list better Bosniaks than the rest of us candidates for mayor of Zenica? I have never spoken about my contribution to the development of the Islamic Community Council of Zenica and the Islamic Community of BiH because I consider it my obligation.

The fact that my mother, younger brother, and sister are hajjis, that my wife and I have performed Umrah, are things I am proud of. As a man, I hope that the citizens of Zenica will find the strength on October 2nd to punish Durmić and all those who for 20 years have thought and worked exclusively for their own benefit and that of a few families in our city, and that Zenica will get a mayor for all people, the statement said.
