Kasumović: Novalić is doing what has been on the scene for 20 years, destroying companies and selling them for a pittance

Economic expert and former deputy state finance minister Fuad Kasumović has criticized the federal prime minister Fadil Novalić, who is trying to sell state shares in some of the largest public companies in BiH, reports the news agency Patria.

Kasumović told NAP that the money from the sale of shares, no matter how large, is received only once, whereas if you have a stake in companies, you receive money every year.

A year ago, Novalić received support from the ministers of SDA and HDZ BiH for the FBiH government to sell shares in Sarajevo-osiguranje, the largest domestic insurance company, the Sarajevo Tobacco Factory, and Bosnalijek by the end of 2016.

Although all these companies operate successfully, Novalić persistently claims they are not state treasures.
There is growing talk that the prime minister is acting in the interest of several interconnected groups from FBiH and abroad, who are insidiously trying to get their hands on public companies in BiH for little money.

Fahrudin Radončić, leader of the SBB, called on the prime minister and coalition partners SDA and HDZ to abandon the sale, which was temporarily postponed.

-The problem of the current government in FBiH is that they appoint suitable, not capable, people to the heads of public companies – warned Kasumović, stating:

-Such people destroy companies, devalue their worth, and then the company ends up in the hands of suspicious people, and for little money. By the same principle, many companies in BiH have been destroyed for 20 years. This must stop.
