Barracks in Hadžići ready to accommodate migrants

The Council of Ministers of BiH was informed about the Information of the Ministry of Security on the situation in the area of ​​migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina in relation to the increased inflow of migrants to Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasized that their number in BiH has decreased and that enhanced border surveillance and activities for the accommodation of migrants continue.

From January 1 to September 23 this year, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs registered 15,116 illegal migrants, and 14,101 expressed their intention for asylum, but only 1,103 migrants submitted an asylum application. The majority of migrants came from Pakistan (5,163), Iran (2,196), Syria (2,088), Afghanistan (1,480), and Iraq (1,369).

Estimates suggest that between 1,500 and 2,000 migrants are currently staying in BiH.

The "Ušivak" barracks in Hadžići are ready to receive and accommodate migrants, and families with children are accommodated in the "Sedra" hotel facility. Works are also underway to create conditions for accommodating a larger number of migrants in the Student Dormitory in Bihać, where migrants are currently staying.

Intensive activities are still being conducted to resolve the issue with the authorities of Velika Kladuša for the temporary accommodation of migrants in the Agrokomerc facility.
