RAJLOVAC BARRACKS 19th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Solemnly Marked

(Patria) - The day of the Armed Forces of BiH was solemnly marked at the Rajlovac barracks, and a Formal Academy will be held this evening at the BiH Armed Forces Hall.

On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of BiH, which is considered one of the most successful reforms in BiH, members of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, as well as the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez, attended the presentation of part of the equipment and weapons possessed by the BiH AF at the Rajlovac barracks.

"Our Armed Forces represent a factor of stability and security for the entire country. They are a reliable actor, first and foremost, for all citizens of our homeland, as you recently proved in mitigating the consequences of the floods. You confirm the credibility and significance of the Armed Forces in international missions as well, where you have repeatedly proven yourselves as a reliable actor to our allies internationally. Stable and strong Armed Forces are the main guarantee of the survival and stability of the state of BiH and a lever that must never be called into question by anything," said Komšić.

The Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH AF, Lieutenant General Gojko Knežević, emphasized that the Day of the BiH AF is an opportunity to recall the numerous tasks completed and goals achieved in the past period, but also to consider future priorities.

“We have responded to the military profession and challenges professionally, which gives me the right to congratulate all members of the BiH AF on their achieved results. Regardless of the difficulties we faced, we achieved significant results. It is important to highlight the engagement of the BiH AF in providing assistance to flood-affected areas and participating in firefighting, as well as medical evacuations. Through the continuity of demining, we will continue to contribute to the security environment, as well as create prerequisites for work on the most significant infrastructure projects,” concluded General Knežević.

Member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić, in his address, reminded of the importance of the BiH AF, and how they regularly participate in international missions, but that this year the obligations towards NATO were not fulfilled since BiH did not send an MAP.

At the end of the ceremony, awards and other incentive measures were presented to selected members of the BiH AF for their work and results achieved in the past year within the competence of the MoD and the Joint Staff of the BiH AF, as well as awards for the most successful sports teams and individuals from the commands and units of the BiH AF. After the ceremonial parade, members of the Armed Forces of BiH performed a technical-tactical event, i.e., a presentation of drill movements and procedures by the honor guard, demonstrating the capabilities, capacities, and part of the armament in use by the Armed Forces of BiH.
