Karić: We are building an additional 80 km of highway in FBiH (video)

Director of JP Autoceste FBiH d.o.o. Mostar Ensad Karić today handed over the contract for the construction and supervision of the Zenica jug – Zenica sjever section to the director of "Hering d.d. Široki Brijeg" Ladislav Bevanda and the director of "Divel d.o.o. Sarajevo" Elvedin Voloder, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The start of the construction of the Zenica bypass was formalized with the symbolic handover of the contract at the construction site of the Zenica sjever – Zenica jug highway section.

- We are opening a new construction site for a new investment cycle. With the Zenica jug – Zenica sjever section, we are continuing construction towards the north of our country. The year 2014 is the year of opening and putting into traffic the promised 102 kilometers of highway. The new goal of the Management of our company is to build an additional 80 kilometers of highway in the Federation of BiH - stated the director of JP Autoceste FBiH Ensad Karić.

The contractor for this section, Hering director Vladislav Bevanda, emphasized that the most significant structures on this section are a 600m long bridge and a 400m long viaduct. More than 200 workers will be engaged during the construction.

At the beginning of next year, the construction of the highway to Donja Gračanica will continue. For the completion of the Zenica bypass, land acquisition has been completed, as well as the procedure for securing funds for construction.

The Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić and the Ambassador of Kuwait to BiH Nasser Riden Thamer Almotairi attended the official start of work on the Zenica bypass.

The Ambassador of Kuwait to BiH Nasser Riden Thamer Almotairi emphasized that the cooperation between BiH and Kuwait has been good so far. This project aims to improve the cooperation between these two countries in the field of road construction. The Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić emphasized that it is as important to continue the investment cycle of highway construction as it is important for companies from BiH to get jobs in highway construction.

The construction deadline is 30 months. The most significant structures are the Perin han viaduct, the Drivuša bridge, and the Klopče viaduct. The construction of the mentioned section will be financed by funds secured from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
