Karate Cup of Liberation - Salko Ćurić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The "Karate Cup of Liberation - Salko Ćurić" karate event is being held today in Sarajevo's Skenderija. The organizers' wish, for the past 20 years, has been for this karate event to be a tribute to Salko Ćurić, as well as a tribute to all who love karate. 

The competition is free for all participants with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS, the City of Sarajevo, and the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports. 

The competition is held for children aged 8 to 13 in kata, for seniors in kumite (open category), and for senior women in kata. 

This cup is held every year in memory of Salko Ćurić, a pioneer of karate sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who died in 1992 defending Sarajevo.
