Karatekas from the "Bjelave" Home received kimono suits

In the premises of the JU "Home for Children without Parental Care" in Bjelave, a distribution of kimono suits was organized yesterday for 16 children from this home who train at the "Perfekt" Karate Club, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

This donation was secured thanks to the initiative of Mersiha Delalić, secretary of the "Bardakčije" Local Community, whose proposal was sent to the Commission of the Centar Municipal Council for Local Communities and Cooperation with Municipalities and Cities, which approved 1,000 KM from the municipal budget for this purpose.

The coach of the "Perfekt" Karate Club and physical education professor Armin Topalović stated that the residents of the Bjelave Home and children from families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, socially endangered families, and children of disabled war veterans train for free at this club, which has 300 members.

– The residents of the Bjelave Children's Home have shown great progress in both physical and mental aspects in the past year, since they started attending karate classes. I thank the representatives of the "Bardakčije" Local Community for this donation, which will mean a lot to the children. I also thank the Municipality of Centar, which, out of the three city municipalities where the "Perfekt" Karate Club operates, has most supported our efforts to get more children involved in this sport – added Topalović.   

Saudin Đurđević, director of the Bjelave Home, said that the children are satisfied with the training, considering it is a sport that strengthens the body and spirit.

– We at the Home take care of 93 children who are legally allowed to stay in the home until they reach adulthood, and we plan to launch a project to provide temporary accommodation for the residents of our institution until they become fully independent – said Đurđević.
