As a young man he sold cigarettes to survive, and today he doesn't know what to do with millions

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that he sold cigarettes in his youth, and used to smoke while sitting on the bench, reports the Patria News Agency. 

The Frenchman touched on this topic after goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was fined £20,000 for smoking in the dressing room.

- I grew up in a pub. You couldn't see the window from the smoke, and I spent my youth selling cigarettes. When I was doing my military service, at the end of the month we received our salary in cigarettes. As a young man, I was surrounded by smokers, and I smoked cigarettes when I was a young coach - said Wenger.

Wenger called on athletes not to smoke.

- There are athletes who smoke, but it is not a good example. It is best not to smoke, especially if you are a role model for others. However, in the end, the most important thing is whether you passed the ball well or not.
