Cantonal Council of the Party for BiH asks the Government of the Sarajevo Canton: When will you solve air pollution as Forto promised five years ago?

(Patria) - The Cantonal Council of the Party for BiH Sarajevo Canton publicly asks the Government of the Sarajevo Canton:

"When do you intend to solve the problem of air pollution in the Sarajevo Canton in the way that former opposition politician Edin Forto promised the citizens of this Canton?"

Let us remind you, five years ago Our Party promised that when they take power in the Sarajevo Canton, the first thing they would solve would be the problem of air pollution, and then, and later, the then Prime Minister Forto stated:

"What I can say is that there will certainly be measures that will be proactive,"

"Also, one of the measures we need is a constant and much higher quality approach to the public, to citizens, to institutions, to schools... People are uninformed,"
"Our party was the loudest regarding this problem as the opposition."

Now, when you read these statements, they seem stupid, but what has been done regarding air in Sarajevo is devastating to the extent that this winter will have the greatest consequences for the health of our fellow citizens. And today we are uninformed, quite certainly, but we feel this polluted air in every way.

Managing these processes has successfully reduced natural gas consumption in the Sarajevo Canton, even though there have never been more gas sets in the Sarajevo Canton. Sarajevogas, as the largest energy company, has been brought to such a state that it must solve its business result through creative financial solutions or will have to announce that it operated at a loss. 125 million Sm3 of gas delivered to the Sarajevo Canton in 2023 is not a sufficient amount of gas to ensure positive operations, except through "successful" accounting creations.

The Government of the Sarajevo Canton has enabled that personnel potential from Sarajevogas now leads processes in the Ministry of Finance and creates its budget. We will certainly see "successful" results here as well, starting with the assessment of the Canton's currency risk, which, even after a month of this government, we have not heard where those risks are and how they will be resolved if they exist.

The personnel policy of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton is also a "successful" part of the story, considering 60 interventions in one day in the Emergency Room due to falls on ice, while the acting director of the RAD company is not responsible for Kobilja Glava or the city center, because spreading material is science fiction for this company. Science fiction is also the so-called wet procedure prescribed in measures during enormous air pollution.

Further talking about the staffing of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton is superfluous, because how to explain to the Prime Minister that all his directors and executive directors of cantonal companies are in conflict with the law and that they prefer to have an iPhone rather than solve citizens' problems.

The responsible minister is silent, the Prime Minister is silent, the Government is silent about all this, and the only thing they react to is the issue of subsidies for young people, because evidently they have a problem. The problem is not polluted air, the problem is not the measures that are not implemented, the problem is not the ice on the city streets, but the problem is subsidies for young people. Apparently, there are too many young people or they too should have left the Canton/country.

Dear Government, you have secured for yourselves a "wizard" of economic science at the head of the Ministry of Finance, so now reap those fruits in the same way that Sarajevogas reaped them. It is shameful that the issue of subsidies for housing for young people is even raised, because you knew everything and everything was agreed upon. Enable all young people who applied to receive these subsidies, and we will wait for years for the resolution of other promises from five years ago, and that is what you must inform our fellow citizens about.

It seems that Šćepan Polje is more important than the health of citizens in the Sarajevo Canton," the statement of the Cantonal Council of the Party for BiH says.
