Cantonal Council of Party for BiH: How 270 million KM were found in 15 days, yet there is no eight million for youth subsidies

(Patria) - The Government of the Sarajevo Canton has submitted to the parliamentary procedure a Proposal of the Budget for 2024 in the amount of 1,530,000,000 KM. The Draft Budget that was submitted for public discussion amounted to 1,262,733,248 KM and as such was under discussion for 15 days.

From the Cantonal Council of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, they publicly ask the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton and the Minister of Finance how, in the 15 days of public discussion, the amount of 270,000,000 KM was found and included in the Budget Proposal.

"What is that economic or other activity where additional budget revenue of 270 million KM is expected? How was the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton simultaneously increased compared to last year, 2023, when it amounted to 1,438,896,538 KM, which is 100,000,000 KM more than the planned funds for 2024, knowing that with the drop in the weighting coefficient, the revenues of the Sarajevo Canton also decrease?

Analyzing these astronomical amounts of growth in the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton, we cannot help but wonder how it is then possible that additional funds for subsidizing young people cannot be found. In 15 days, 270,000,000 KM were found, yet it is impossible, at the same time, to find 8 million KM (in more than a month) for additional funds under the public call for subsidizing young people.

The Sarajevo Canton is slowly entering debt slavery, and this 'toy' called the budget has been given to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to play with when they are bored, and it is obvious that they have been terribly bored in the last 15 days.
At the same time, the Sarajevo Canton is slowly entering the sphere of maximum possible indebtedness, i.e., the legal maximum, and as long as this 'toy' called the budget is in the hands of this duo, they will do everything so that even our children's children repay loans, mostly for unnecessary things.

In the Government's announcement presenting the adoption of the Budget Proposal, not once was the improvement of air quality in the Sarajevo Canton mentioned, not once was the resolution of the Smiljevići landfill mentioned, nor, possibly, a new location for waste disposal, furthermore, not once was subsidizing or co-financing for improving the energy efficiency of individual residential buildings (households) mentioned, etc.

The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton obviously lives in some parallel world, with clean and fragrant air, and it will be interesting to see the Government's contribution from this 1.5 billion KM for the 'clean lungs' of the Sarajevo Canton.

The path to debt slavery, which began with former Prime Minister Forto, his student consistently continues along the same path, and on the foundations of the indebtedness of the entity of Republika Srpska, they spread the same demagoguery that indebtedness is not a problem. Perhaps it wouldn't be if the budget had not been turned into a toy for entertainment during the fifteen-day boredom of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance of the Sarajevo Canton," they state from the Cantonal Council of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
