Cantonal Committee of SDA today on Uk's resignation but also on eventual participation in the new Government of Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - The Cantonal Committee of SDA Sarajevo will hold a press conference today at 11 AM regarding the current political situation in Sarajevo Canton after the Prime Minister of SC Nihad Uk resigned three days after the tragic tram accident that occurred on February 12th near the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which one person died.

"The resignation of the Prime Minister of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, is not a surprise, but unfortunately a belated admission of the complete failure of the Trojka government. It came only after strong public pressure and after another tragic event that exposed serious systemic weaknesses, for which this government has had no answer for months, if not years," stated SDA in a press release.

SDA believes that Uk's resignation will not solve anything, "because the problem is not the individual, but the way of governing and the value system imposed by the Trojka government in SC".

"At a time when Trojka no longer has a parliamentary majority, it is clear that this government has neither the political capacity nor a plan to get out of this political crisis that Uk's resignation has confirmed. Of course, despite Uk's resignation, SDA will continue to insist on establishing the full truth about what actually happened and full responsibility for the tragic accident, as well as for those who, through media narratives and evident influence on experts and the investigation, tried to mislead the public and cowardly shift all responsibility to the driver as the lowest link in the entire system of responsibility," stated the Cantonal Committee of SDA Sarajevo.

At today's press conference, the Cantonal Committee of SDA is expected to announce whether it is interested in entering the government and with which political parties, given that DF and SBiH are not interested in such an exhibition a few months before the General Elections.
