Cantonal Civil Protection Administration: Protective and rescue measures to be taken against strong winds

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Civil Protection Administration warns all legal and natural persons to immediately take necessary protective and rescue measures in accordance with their jurisdictions and obligations against strong winds, considering that in the upcoming period, according to forecasts from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, strong southerly winds with storm-force gusts, reaching speeds of 65 to 75 km/h, are expected in the Sarajevo Canton area.

They particularly appeal to legal entities carrying out construction work to not leave objects that could fall from roofs and other parts of buildings, as well as construction scaffolding, due to strong winds, thereby endangering the safety of passers-by.

They also appeal to citizens not to leave objects on their balconies and other open spaces that could endanger someone's safety, and to not park their vehicles near large trees.

"Municipal civil protection services should put their protection and rescue forces on alert, so that they are ready to respond to the announced strong wind gusts, in accordance with their jurisdictions and obligations and according to protection and rescue plans," stated the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration.
