Canton Sarajevo: Online classes from March 12 to 26 that will not be made up

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Government of Canton Sarajevo has decided to organize online classes in educational institutions. The Government of Canton Sarajevo at an extraordinary session held this evening adopted the Decision on the organization of work of educational institutions and student dormitories in the Canton area, in the period from Thursday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 26, 2020.

The KS Government made such a decision in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, based on the Order of the Crisis Staff of the KS Ministry of Health and the proposal of the KS Ministry of Education, Science and Youth.

Regular teaching process in all primary and secondary schools and teaching-scientific process in all higher education institutions in the Canton Sarajevo area is suspended, starting from tomorrow (Thursday) March 12 up to and including Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Regular teaching process in the aforementioned educational institutions in the Canton area is planned to resume on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

All these institutions, in accordance with their capabilities, are obliged to organize an online teaching process, starting from tomorrow, March 12 of this year. In primary schools in the Canton Sarajevo area where extended stay is organized, it is recommended to adapt the extended stay work to the public health threat and according to the epidemiological situation, in terms of taking preventive measures in accordance with the Order of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

It is also recommended for all preschool institutions in the Canton Sarajevo area to adapt their work to the aforementioned measures and the Order of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

In the same Decision, the Government also obliged all student dormitories in the Canton Sarajevo area to organize their work in accordance with the Order of the Crisis Staff of the KS Ministry of Health, as well as taking into account the best interests of service users.

Also, all the aforementioned institutions are obliged to ensure the highest level of hygiene in their premises.

All employees of these institutions are obliged to come to work regularly and perform their duties according to the instructions of their superiors, and in accordance with further orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the KS Ministry of Health and the KS Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the Government of Canton Sarajevo.
