Canton Sarajevo to get a new Government on March 6

Deputies of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will vote on the Decision on Confirmation of the Government of Sarajevo Canton at their First regular session of the Assembly, scheduled for March 6, 2015. This was agreed today at the first session of the Collegium of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, chaired by the Speaker of the Assembly Sejo Bukva, reports the Patria News Agency.

An Emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, due to the need to express opinions and take stances on several issues important for the functioning of Sarajevo Canton.

This primarily relates to the announced urgent amendments to the Law on the Allocation of Public Revenue in the Federation of BiH and the need for the Canton Assembly to express its opinion on possible new legal solutions. Before the appointment of the new Canton Government, it is necessary to express an opinion on the proposal of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on the Organization and Scope of Administrative Bodies and Administrative Organizations of Sarajevo Canton, which proposes the separation of the communal affairs department into a separate ministry, and the merger of the departments for spatial planning, housing affairs, and environmental protection.

The proposed agenda for the emergency session will also include proposals for amendments to several laws, specifically the Law on the Labor and Legal Status of Deputies in the KS Assembly, the Law on the Labor and Legal Status of Members of the KS Government, and the Law on Salaries and Allowances in Government Bodies. The proposed amendments, as pointed out by the members of the Collegium, relate to the provisions regulating payments for the so-called "white bread" and advisory positions in the Sarajevo Canton government bodies.

The proposal for a decision on supplementing the Decision on Harmonizing the Status of JP "Rad" with the Law on Public Enterprises in the Federation of BiH, as well as the decision on the temporary appointment of the Management Board of the Cantonal Privatization Agency, are included in the proposed agenda for the emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, which will be finally determined at the session itself.
