Foundation stone laid 9 years ago: Where has the money for the construction of the Grebak Memorial Center disappeared?

Nine years have passed since the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the Grebak Memorial Center. This year's gathering on the Put spasa, the event “Grebak 2017” was organized on a meadow, everything turned into a picnic where money is made, and of the Memorial Center, which was loudly announced, even a Construction Committee was formed, and an unknown sum of money was collected, there is no trace or word, writes the Patria news agency.

On Saturday, August 12, at Grebak, members of the 182nd Viteška (Foča) Light Brigade, who defended Put spasa as the only connection between Goražde and Sarajevo, were present. A large number of citizens also came. Traditionally, the mayor of the Foča municipality in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zijad Kunovac (SDA), who laid the foundation stone during his first mayoral term (2004-2008) and is also the chairman of the Construction Committee, was there.

Kunovac, who was in Germany during the aggression, gave a speech at the “Grebak 2017” event and “reminded” of the difficult war days he experienced from a safe distance.

Perhaps precisely because he does not know what Put spasa meant for this part of Bosnia, nor that he did not carry a rifle in his hand, Kunovac thinks that by laying the foundation stone, erecting a monument (spent a maximum of 30,000 KM) and a public fountain (2,500 KM is given every year), the story of the Memorial Center is finished.

If he already treats the values of the defensive-liberation war in this way, it would be desirable for him to explain to the public what the Construction Committee, which he heads, did with the money collected through the BH Telecom donation number (now not in function), and with two current accounts in banks, where most of the money was deposited by Bosnians living in the diaspora. Unofficial information is that about one million marks were collected, and the exact figure is certainly known to Kunovac and the members of the Construction Committee, among whom are Esed Radeljaš and Zuhdija Ožegović (BPS).
