Kallas: We welcome the fact that state officials have not succumbed to pressure and withdrawn from BiH institutions

(Patria) - Threats that undermine the constitutional order, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina are dangerous and unacceptable, said the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the EU, Kaja Kallas, after a meeting with members of the Presidency of BiH this evening.

Kallas, addressing a press conference, stated that the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is stable, but fragile due to the endangerment of the constitutional order and fundamental freedoms of all citizens.

And that, she emphasized, comes from the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, from where they are undermining the work of domestic institutions, writes Faktor.

- We welcome the fact that state officials have not succumbed to political pressure to withdraw from state-level institutions because ordinary citizens are the ones paying the price - said Kallas.

She particularly emphasized that the European Union is committed to the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- The European Union is here to ensure security. Therefore, the security of this country must not be endangered - she said, emphasizing that the EU will not tolerate any threats to the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and constitutional order of BiH.

She also stressed that the political instability of Bosnia and Herzegovina is slowing down its development.

- There are no shortcuts to EU membership, but your door is wide open. The faster BiH adopts reforms, the more international supervision will gradually cease. You must take the right steps - concluded Kallas.
