(Patria) - At today's press conference of the KS Government, the Minister of Finance of KS, Afan Kalamujić, spoke about the total debt of Sarajevo Canton.
He stated that the current debt of Sarajevo Canton, which includes principal and interest, amounts to 800 million marks.
"With that changing. We have quarterly installment payments, we are repaying the debt. What we will do and what is the commitment of this Government according to the Budget for 2026 is reprogramming, i.e., refinancing part of the debt in order to reduce obligations from interest through more favorable conditions, free up additional funds in the KS Budget for next year for projects for citizens, and that is precisely within the framework of active debt management," said Kalamujić.
We remind you that on Monday, December 29, the KS Assembly will consider the Budget for 2026, which the Government of Sarajevo Canton determined to be 1.9 billion KM, which is the largest budget ever.
The budget proposal also envisages an increase in the base for calculating salaries of public sector employees by five percent.
