How Sebija Izetbegović Took the Only Bone Densitometry Device from the General Hospital

Since October 10, the General Hospital „Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš“ has been left without the only DPX device used for bone density measurement, and the same device ended up a few days later at the KCUS, headed by Sebija Izetbegović. The General Hospital had used this device for a full eight years, something Izetbegović was well aware of given that she was the director of this hospital, reports the Patria news agency.

The director of the General Hospital, Zlatko Kravić, in his letter addressed to the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton, states that they had requested in writing from the company Inspire HL, which owns the device, not to remove it due to its exceptionally high utilization and the fact that patients had been scheduled until December 31, 2016.

- Despite the aforementioned fact, on October 10, 2016, technicians from the company Medical Mostar, acting on the order of the director of Inspire HL, dismantled and took over the said device, undamaged and functional - Kravić stated.

 

Kravić's response to the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton

In the response from the director of KCUS, Sebija Izetbegović, addressed to the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton, it is stated that they had submitted a request to the company Inspire HL to provide them with one of the bone densitometry devices.

- The company Inspire HL itself decided that it would be the device in question, and it was within their authority to make the decision to transfer it from the General Hospital „Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš“ to KCUS - Izetbegović responded.

Furthermore, Izetbegović also stated that the General Hospital had not requested an extension for the use of the device, even though director Kravić clarified what they had asked from the company Inspire HL. 

Incidentally, KCUS has another bone densitometry device, but it is out of order. The question arises whether the existing device could have been repaired or whether it was easier to take another from the General Hospital.

Response from Sebija Izetbegović

These responses will be on the agenda of the next session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, given that the parliamentary question was posed by Segmedina Srna Bajramović (SDP BiH) regarding the criteria and purpose behind the decision to transfer the only bone densitometry device from the General Hospital to KCUS.
