Kajganić reminded of Galić's escape and information leaks: Someone needs to think more seriously about this problem

(Patria) - Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Milanko Kajganić, spoke very openly at today's press conference about information leaks from security agencies, as well as the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

He stated that it is a blessing for BiH to have multiple police agencies and that the acting prosecutor chooses with whom to conduct investigative actions and how to protect the investigation so that situations that have already occurred do not happen.

"As it has happened that certain individuals who are the subject of an investigation have escaped. That is why I said that we must take that into account, and when I say leaks, I confirm it with situations where we have so far filed indictments against officials of almost all security institutions in BiH, and someone really needs to start thinking more seriously about the mentioned problem," said Kajganić.

"I thank the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs for professionally carrying out all activities and investigative actions, and there was no unauthorized disclosure of information as we have had in some previous cases. A few months ago, in the case against the suspect Zoran Galić, Deputy Director of SIPA, there was an information leak and the suspect escaped and is currently unavailable to us. I am glad that agencies in BiH can professionally carry out activities," said Kajganić.

Prosecutor Mladen Furtula stated that if an agency initiates evidence and if the prosecutor is satisfied with the cooperation, the work continues in practice and there is no need to involve another because all agencies have similar capacities and are all capable of meeting the needs.

"In this case, we see nothing problematic why the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a police agency, is participating in this investigation and evidence collection in this specific investigation," said Furtula.
