Kajganić did not want to reveal if Nešić will be questioned regarding unauthorized distribution of information about arrested persons

(Patria) - Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office Milanko Kajganić did not want to precisely answer at today's press conference whether the BiH Minister of Security Nenad Nešić will be questioned regarding the source of information about the arrest of Ranko Debevec and Osman Mehmedagić, and why he gave false information to the media about the arrest of lawyer Senka Nožica, who has already announced a lawsuit against Nešić.

Instead of a precise answer, Kajganić repeated his statement from the beginning of the press conference that only the BiH Prosecutor's Office is authorized to provide information from cases in which investigation orders have been issued.

“I sent a message to everyone who is not a prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office or a spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office not to release information to the media about a Prosecutor's Office case when an investigation is being actively conducted. There is a danger of jeopardizing the integrity of the investigation and potentially committing criminal offenses stipulated by the Criminal Code of BiH, such as obstruction of justice or prevention of evidence,” Kajganić said.

He added that no one has any operational authority over the work of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and everyone should adhere to that.

“Only the BiH Prosecutor's Office is authorized to provide information from cases in which investigation orders have been issued. All other information shared by individuals not from the Prosecutor's Office represents inaccurate information and speculation, and leads to public misinformation. If someone outside the BiH Prosecutor's Office releases information to the public about cases being handled by the Prosecutor's Office, it means they obtained that information unauthorizedly and are distributing it unauthorizedly, endangering the individuals who made that information available to them. The Prosecutor's Office will, within its capabilities, investigate such allegations,” Kajganić said.
