Kajan asks the FBiH Government: Where is the money collected after the tragedy that hit Jablanica and several other BiH municipalities?

(Patria) - Do HDZ and the Troika really think they can prevent MPs from doing their job, asked DF MP in the Federal Parliament Sanel Kajan in a social media post tonight.

"They convene three times, then postpone the Parliament session. Three times they deny us the opportunity to hold a 'members' hour' in which we would ask questions to the Prime Minister and ministers from the FBiH Government. Of course, provided they show up for the session, because the practice of most is not to come. With the exception of a few ministers.

Perhaps today I did not have the opportunity to ask publicly in Parliament, but I can do so like this, and I have also sent it to the Parliament service in writing, for referral and clarification to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Based on Article 11 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, I am submitting parliamentary questions to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

- Where is the money collected after the tragedy that hit Jablanica and several other BiH municipalities?

- Money for compensation for damages from natural disasters is allocated from the salaries of BiH citizens. Who is it for and how is it spent?!

- Give us a deadline, a specific date when trains will start running on the railway line through Jablanica, to Mostar and Čapljina, and in the opposite direction, towards Sarajevo.

"The railway in Jablanica, which, to the shame of the authorities, only started to be repaired two months after it was damaged, seems to be repaired exclusively thanks to donations. Donation of project documentation and construction works, donation of project documentation revision services, donation of supervision over execution, and the like.

According to the law, a special fee for protection from natural and other disasters is paid by all natural and legal persons and state bodies at all levels of government in the Federation of BiH. The method of distribution of these revenues is as follows: 15 percent belongs to the Federation of BiH, 25 percent to the cantons, and 60 percent to the municipalities. These funds must be spent for specific purposes, and the decision on their realization should be made by the competent Government. So, I ask - what about this money?!

I remind you that every few years we face various major problems, including tragedies. I will mention here the snow blockade in 2012, the floods in 2014, the epidemic in 2020, and two months ago the tragedy caused by floods and torrents, but it seems also by the human factor.

And always a similar story, without a concrete action plan, without concrete and implemented guidelines on what and how in the future, to prevent similar situations," Kajan stated.
