Cadet representatives departed for Moldova

Cadet representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina departed this morning for Moldova where they will participate in the European Championship qualifying tournament from September 23 to 28.

Before departing, coach Sakib Malkočević said:

- In four days of preparations in Vogošća, we completed six training sessions. The most important thing is that there were no injuries. We tried to make up for what was missed during the preparation period and to correct the mistakes that happened in the friendly doubleheader against Italy. We are going to Moldova cautiously, but also with optimism. We have played in the Elite Round in the previous three qualifying cycles and we want to continue that streak - stated Malkočević.

The opponents of the BiH U-17 representatives will be Moldova, Russia, and Latvia.

- It will not be easy. Russia is the favorite of the group, and surely Moldova and Latvia also have their ambitions. We are witnesses to how teams from Eastern Europe are progressing and achieving better and better results at both club and national team levels. Everyone plays football and it will be difficult, but we hope to finish the tournament in one of the top two places in the group and qualify for the Elite Round - added Malkočević.

Yesterday in Zenica, BiH cadets cheered on our women's national team in the match against Serbia, and our best female footballers also wished Sakib Malkočević's team luck at the tournament in Moldova.
