When Math Guarantees Honesty: Turnout in Unconstitutional Referendum Was 41.06 Percent

After the unconstitutional referendum concluded, the President of the Referendum Organizing Commission, Siniša Karan, announced the first results at 9:10 PM on Sunday, with 30.76 percent of the voting material processed.

Based on that material, 154,019 ballots were determined. He also stated that 99.8 percent of voters were in favor of January 9th. There is no shortage of brilliant mathematicians in this country, so many of them started calculating the turnout.

Therefore, 69.24 percent of the ballots remain unprocessed. Math dictates that this amounts to 346,693 ballots. After summing them up, the total reached 500,172 ballots.

A total of 1,219,399 voters were registered. These 500,172 ballots represent only 41.06 percent.

There is no doubt that Karan misspoke in his statement and revealed the true figures about the referendum (the tongue wants to speak the truth). Therefore, this referendum was a defeat for Milorad Dodik and a complete collapse of his acrobatic policies.

Turnout in rural areas was exceptional, while turnout in cities showed what the Serbian people think of their leader.

It is evident that even the organizers were aware of the disaster, as Dodik himself announced that ballots from abroad were yet to come. He referred to Serbia as abroad for the first time. The question is what difference those voters could have possibly made to this catastrophic result.
