Juventus' "Area Manager" visits Sarajevo

Marco Degortes, Area Manager of the team from Turin, is visiting the Juventus Academy in Sarajevo, which started operating in our capital in September 2016.

The project is led by Birr Group, which signed a three-year contract with Juventus. In addition to the camp, which was successfully held in our country last year, the Academy has been operating throughout the year, intended for all children aged 6 to 17. Training sessions take place throughout the year, with a two-month break during the summer.

Training sessions are held three times a week, and boys are divided according to age categories. All exercises are performed according to Juventus' training methods with clearly defined goals and Juventus' philosophy of “Grow up people, before players”.

The academy currently has around 30 members who have participated in some competitions organized in the canton, such as the Winter League at the Bombonera Sports Center.

Currently, three local coaches are working with the children. They assisted coaches from Juventus at this year's camp and subsequently underwent training with the aforementioned Marco Degortes, who is staying in Sarajevo these days to further educate the coaches.

- Degortes is in charge of our academy and is in constant communication with us, monitoring all activities related to the academy. He visits the academy for five to seven days each month, educates coaches, monitors the training process, and checks training preparations. The purpose of the monthly visit is to educate our coaches, monitor the progress of the Academy and the boys, after which he submits a report directly to Juventus, who monitors the work of our academy - says the director and founder of Birr Group, Artem Avanesyan.
