Jusufović on the situation in TK: While some go swimming and to parties, the sick fight for every breath

TUZLA, (Patria) - The Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Tuzla Canton has warned citizens that the coronavirus is present and that they must adhere to the prevention measures in force.

Minister of Health of TK Dajana Čolić said that 0.08 percent of the population in TK is infected with coronavirus. 

"We simply have to learn to live with the virus. The capacity of the Institute of Microbiology of UKC Tuzla is 300 tests per day. Testing is done according to priorities, not wishes," said Čolić.

Vahid Jusufović, director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, emphasized that citizens have become too relaxed, and that the virus is particularly dangerous for people with comorbidities.

"If we had 49 positive cases for ten days, like yesterday, we would endure it with difficulty, but we would also cope with it. Our employees are exhausted, some have given up using their annual leave, which is illegal, but we simply have to prevent potential infections. With the end of the state of natural disaster, the TK Crisis Staff can only issue recommendations, not orders. We must respect the recommendations, act preventively because the epidemiological situation is not good. And while some go to swimming spots in their swim trunks, we are fighting the virus. All those who do not believe this should put on protective suits and come with me to the premises of the Infectious Diseases Clinic. There lies a young man, a truck driver, who was as strong as an ox, and now he fights for every breath every day. We are fighting for his life and the lives of our citizens, and we must all be aware of these facts," said Prof. Dr. Jusufović.

There are currently 398 positive cases in Tuzla Canton, and 17 deaths have been recorded so far.
