July Webometrics Ranking: University of Sarajevo Advances, Ranks 1439th out of 32,000 Universities

(Patria) - In the July edition of the Webometrics ranking, the University of Sarajevo is ranked 1439th on the world list among over 32,000 universities screened based on three criteria: impact, openness, and excellence, placing it in the top 4.5% of all universities on this list.

Regarding the European ranking, the University of Sarajevo is in 550th place out of a total of 5987 ranked universities. The ranking for the Central and Eastern European region shows the University of Sarajevo in 77th place out of 2692 universities. When it comes to universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both public and private, the University of Sarajevo holds an undisputed leading position.

In January 2024, the University of Sarajevo was positioned at 1570th place, and a jump of 131 places on the ranking list represents significant progress, resulting from the efforts of the University of Sarajevo's management, its academic staff, and professional non-teaching staff, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, as well as in synergy with the University's faculties, academies, institutes, and centers.

Furthermore, the University of Sarajevo is the only university from Bosnia and Herzegovina included in the QS World University Rankings for 2025, and this year we witness an increase from the rank of 1200-1400 to a position between 1001st and 1200th place.

In the QS European ranking, the University of Sarajevo is in 488th position, as announced in June 2024.

The reliability of the QS World University Rankings is confirmed by the nine criteria used to measure university quality, which include: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, international student ratio, international research network, employment outcomes, and sustainability.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is the only global performance measurement system that assesses all core missions of universities: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. On the 2024 university ranking – Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, which ranked 1,906 universities from 108 countries and regions worldwide, the University of Sarajevo is in the 1501+ position.
