JULY RANKING University of Sarajevo among the top 3.5% of universities in the world according to the Webometrics list

(Patria) - According to the preliminary edition of the Webometrics ranking for July 2025, the University of Sarajevo ranks 1134th (World Rank) on the global university list, which includes over 32 thousand universities from over 200 countries, covered by screening based on three criteria: visibility, transparency, and excellence, placing it in the top 3.5% of all universities on this list.

Compared to January 2025, when the University held the 1478th position, an improvement of 344 places has been recorded, representing significant progress, which is the result of the continuous work and dedication of the University's academic, scientific research, and professional staff, in synergy with all faculties, academies, institutes, and centers in improving the quality of education and research.

In addition to Webometrics, the University of Sarajevo is also present on two of the three most relevant global university ranking lists:

QS World University Rankings 2026, where the University of Sarajevo is ranked 1201–1400, among more than 1500 ranked top universities from over 100 countries,
Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, on which the University of Sarajevo ranks 1501+ among more than 2000 ranked universities from 115 countries.

As the only university from Bosnia and Herzegovina present on the QS and THE ranking lists, the University of Sarajevo confirms its continuous progress in the quality of education and scientific research, and will continue to operate at full capacity with the aim of further development as an increasingly successful, efficient, and transparent higher education institution.

Webometrics.org (https://www.webometrics.org/) is a global platform for ranking universities, designed to reflect the multidimensional performance of higher education institutions. Unlike traditional rankings that focus solely on research, Webometrics evaluates universities based on their digital presence, academic impact, openness, and global visibility.

UNSA notes that organizations that rank university quality periodically change their criteria, and accordingly, certain changes in university positions on the ranking lists may occur.
