Jukić: I did not break the law, and if anyone suspects illegality, let an investigation be opened!

Director of the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina Velimir Jukić made a decision on the unique program for processing census data in BiH, but this provoked sharp reactions in the smaller BiH entity of the RS, so the SNSD Club also requested a parliamentary debate, and serious accusations were made that the law was violated, Patria writes.

Otherwise, according to the decision on the data processing methodology, 196,000 disputed census forms will be treated as resident residents, and this most "hurt" representatives from the RS, and Jukić's deputy Miljan Popić expressed disagreement with the decision on the unique program for processing census data. However, Jukić is clear.

- I did not break the law. The decision to adopt a unique methodology for processing data from the 2013 Census is entirely based on the law - Jukić emphasized.

When asked by a Patria journalist whether the Law on Statistics, which states that statistical institutions must be independent, is being violated in the Parliament building, Jukić said:

- One of the standards we must adhere to is that we must be independent. That is our obligation and the Law on Statistics obliges us to do so. I acted as the law required me to, and that is the whole and true truth. That is my response to accusations and insinuations that someone did this or that. What is contained in the program is the full implementation of the IMO team, and I think their knowledge and good intentions towards everyone in BiH should be respected - Jukić emphasized.

Given that in the hall at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there was a call for the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to investigate who illegally provided data, Jukić said that "as far as I followed, no one from statistical institutions has ever released any data on census results."

- That is said by some other people and they speculate. If someone broke the law and got access to data, then that is a situation for an investigation and I support that - Jukić added.

Otherwise, at the 5th emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) that began today, a conclusion was adopted by which the Council of Ministers of BiH is tasked with submitting, within ten days, Information on the 2013 census.

The Council of Ministers of BiH is tasked with submitting this information in connection with the established agenda item of the 5th emergency session of the House of Representatives of PSBiH, which reads: "Information of the Council of Ministers of BiH on the Decision on adopting the Unique program for processing data from the census of population, households and apartments in BiH in 2013, adopted by the Director of the Agency for Statistics of BiH Velimir Jukić".
